• The overall aim for MWM is to provide members with the knowledge, skills and training to ensure their own and others’ survival in a wilderness medicine environment
• To organise lectures from experts in a range of wilderness medicine based specialities and with experience practising wilderness medicine
• To organise and run practical skills training and specific first aid courses so members can gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications required to practice Wilderness Medicine
• To increase the awareness of Rescue and Wilderness Medicine based SSCs, electives and careers
• To initiate an interaction with rescue services to learn about their roles
• To fundraise for the rescue services
• Environments we aim to provide training for include:
• extreme conditions
• tropical conditions
• urban conditions
• at sea/ underwater conditions
• isolated conditions, far away from help
